One thing I learned in 2022 is that my customers can be particular about their bite valves! And with the economy where it is I'm sure a lot of you are interested in repurposing your 3/8" tubing and bite valves from your existing hydration systems.
This variant allows you to build your own One Bottle Hydration System for your wide mouth Nalgene/Takeya/ThermoFlask and save a few dollars! Just use cold water to lubricate your tube and insert/adjust it in the adapter, and you've got the same setup as my Complete One Bottle Hydration System!
In November 2024 the wide-mouth lid gained a drinking spout with Smartwater threads so in combination with the adapter you can now easily switch a Smartwater bottle into your One Bottle System!
In November 2025 I added a retention tether and carry loop option! You get pre-cut and pre-knotted cord plus a carabiner to add a retention tether and carry loop to the black lid*. With the lid attached it’s one less thing to lose, plus you can store the bottle with the lid off to keep mold down. The carry loop makes your life easier when you’ve got small hands and a big Nalgene, and it offers a place to carabiner the bottle to your pack so it doesn’t fall out!
*caveat - late-model Hydro Flasks and Camelbak bottles don’t have a lip for the tether. Check your bottle before purchasing!
